Designed and built the backend infrastructure for a fuel card mobile platform supporting authentication, wallet operations, real-time transaction updates and scalable API services for a rapidly growing user base.

Challenge
The platform required a backend capable of serving tens of thousands of users while supporting low-latency transaction updates, secure authentication and horizontally scalable infrastructure. Wallet balance updates needed to reflect instantly across devices without hammering the database with polling requests.
Our Solution
Implemented a FastAPI backend with Redis caching, MySQL persistence, Dockerized services and Terraform-managed infrastructure. WebSockets were introduced for real-time transaction and wallet updates while maintaining scalable API performance. Redis handled session state and rate limiting, keeping the core database free for transactional writes.
Outcome
Delivered a production-ready backend architecture capable of supporting approximately 70,000 users with real-time communication, infrastructure automation and reliable API services, built to scale horizontally as the user base grows.
